Don't know if this has been done before...so here goes.

I was thinking about this the other day..I do that sometimes. Ever wonder how YOUR life would be different if Jerry had kept his accordian instead of trading it in on a guitar??

I think mine would be much different. This band has influenced me in so many ways. From the people I chose to hang out with to (deadheads ..duh), to my choices of entertainment (summer tour is coming, woohoo..), musical tastes etc. I can't think of another band that could have had this life altering affect on me..or anyone else for that matter.

How about you all???

I loved music before the Boys but the interspection I did while I listened to them transformed a child to a man.

I was hit by a bus at 25 and walked away and I know that all the weirdness that insued with the Band soon after never could have happened with a according player( at least not alone, Bruce was there at my first DS).

Great question, I don't think I could comprehend the difference of how my life may have unfolded in that other dimension where Jerry became the King of the Polka.

I'd wager that things would be pretty much the same, except that polka would be much cooler!

Good question, in a totally forumesque waste of time kinda way (seriously).

I think I would have just gravitated toward the other 60s bands I can obsess about, and then never looked back or forward.

Really, for most of the 80s and 90s I was "retired" from the DEAD, though you could say I was influenced by the prior exposure...not sure I wouldn't be the same geek with a different subject matter frankly.

Agreed. No one is even in the same league.

Who knows, maybe we'd all be watching a variety show with some guy named Garcia on accordian?
